Abstract
In this study, the understanding of lighting design and the design process were organized. The nature of light and the development of
light sources as tools for human use of light were summarized. Lighting fixture is developed in a variety of functions according to the
size and characteristics of the light source, and should be appropriately applied in lighting design. In addition, since the psychological
stability that users receive differs depending on the height and location of the lighting fixture, it is important to fully consider space
utilization in order to create a more comfortable space and visual environment. The ultimate lighting designer's role is to consider and
analyze various functional and shape of space and lighting to bring out a sense of visual and psychological satisfaction. In the
process, close cooperation with interior designers, architects, and space users is essential. Lighting design elements can be largely
divided into two. First, 'How to light?' Should be arranged, and ambient lighting, accent lighting and task lighting should be
appropriately used according to the purpose of the space presentation. Secondly, 'What to light with?' It is to decide which lamps,
lighting fixtures, and dimmers should be applied.
